The Comrie building was constructed in late Victorian times and is unusual for its wood-clad front
and vent in the roof. It opened in 1901 and became "listed" in 1979. Like other museums in Perthshire, it has been a typical local library in past years, it is very up to date with good lighting, free wi-fi, modern furniture, "state of the art" IT system and facilities to encourage children. All our Libraries can only be opened at limited times at present. Up to now, they have been financed and run by a department of the county council (CPK). Sadly, the council are forced to reduce spending and have announced closure early in 2025 of these much-loved facilities within the county. |
